Hello Simon, this is a really perceptive post. And short answer, yes, I think this is a good idea, if your forum has the technological ability to support it. Geoff’s contribution has value and should not be excluded, but no-one should be forced to engage in a way they don’t want to, or feel they cannot post on the rest of the forum for fear of conflict. They can choose whether to step into his office, so to speak.
Wanted to pop a quick reply here before I forget!
I’m excited to see you taking creative steps to some new processes. It seems to be arising that having smaller groups and spaces, nested within larger ones helps us to manage scale as well as offer greater intimacy and support.
I’m somewhat disengaged because I simply am heavily focused on my family, my smallholding growing season, and local community duties. This is the wellspring of my contemplation and reflection, action research rather than academic and disembodied enquiry.
When the season shifts, I shall come and hang out here more again.
Understood. For the remainder of the summer season, we’re going to be keeping the Research calls light and easy with a series of traditional “one-off” presenters. (Who and what topics TDB). Some time in the fall season we want to do something more like a multi-week subcircle (or possibly multiple such subcircles). We would love to include you as a one-off presenter (when your schedule allows) or for whatever participation level you prefer in some future subcircle. Just DM me if and when you want to get specific about any of this!
