Are people making fewer kids because something deep inside is telling us that we don’t want to raise them in a world with this paradigm?
Thanks for posting! What I figured out awhile ago is I can’t get by without human conversation, so I like to hang out in discussion fora like this exchanging views with people. (Solitaire internet surfing something does not have quite the same effect). Glad to see you want to ride that way also!
In the UK, I think the main reason is young people are broke. If you are 25, and can’t afford to leave your parental home, how can you seriously consider having children?
Ultimately this is because the “current paradigm” (i.e. civilisation as we know it) is in the process of collapsing, but I think the primary mechanism is financial more than intuitive in the sense you’re describing. Although it is also true that many people intuitively sense that something is deeply wrong, and don’t understand what it is (usually they have very simplistic ideas about the cause). But being financially unable to leave your parents is the sort of thing that is so “in your face” that intuition isn’t needed.
