Some notes from Tent meeting 5/6:

Overview of principles and GiveWiser as a whole.

Continuous (like Patreon) trickle model vs “lump sum funding for X months”, the tradeoffs of when those are more effective

What is the effect of “the struggle” in relationship to doing a thing (as it relates to money)? It’s kind of like deadlines - some people want/need/like them and the associated pressure, but some don’t. Does that ever have a useful function that giving removes? (“Is this transformative, or is this enabling?”)

“Gosh giving is so complex!” Money is tied to fundamental security (bottom of Maslow’s pyramid), root level, and tough to navigate. The giving relationship can be fraught but there’s something very useful about ongoing awareness and accountability and strategic reflection.

This even connects to the money that people already do have, and how they hold and spend their money, etc.
