Ken Wilber wiki (project idea)

Sharing the idea of making a “Ken Wilber Wiki”: a simple wiki/knowledgebase for the work of Ken Wilber, the American philosopher and originator of integral theory.

The aim would be to make an accessible and navigable entry point to some of the key ideas in Wilber’s work. (It would also be a chance to familiarize ourselves with the work too.)

Rather than attempting to map the broader field of integral thought, this wiki is dedicated specifically to Wilber’s writings. It organizes key concepts, terms, and frameworks in concise entries, deeply interlinked and cross-referenced to primary sources—e.g. entries on “gross reductionism”, “subtle reductionism”, “ecofeminism” or “the pre/trans fallacy.”

I’m thinking of beginning with Sex, Ecology, Spirituality (1995), which Wilber regarded as the first volume of his never-completed Kosmos Trilogy. Even within that single work, the density and depth of ideas call for a structured, modular resource that allows readers to orient themselves and trace key concepts across Wilber’s evolving thought. From this focused beginning, the project may later grow to encompass his wider oeuvre.

Four initial questions

  1. Similar existing work: Are you aware of any existing wikis or structured knowledge bases focused on Ken Wilber’s work or integral theory more broadly?
  2. What could we draw on? Are there existing efforts in the integral space that we could learn from or collaborate with, even if they aren’t specifically Wilber-focused?
  3. Which texts to prioritize: Which of Wilber’s texts—or sections—do you think would be most useful to prioritize in the early stages of this project?
  4. What concepts: What are some concepts in Wilber’s work you’ve found hard to keep track of or wished had clear, standalone explanations?

I have no direct knowledge of prior work, but this seems like a question for which Corey deVos would be the best person in the world to answer.

Love this! A focused, well-linked resource like this feels long overdue.
There’s so much value in creating a space that helps people orient themselves in Wilber’s work without flattening it. The balance between accessibility and depth you’re aiming for really resonates.

While there’s no comprehensive, user-friendly Ken Wilber wiki currently available, related efforts like Integral Life and Integral World offer curated content and critical essays, though they’re not structured as reference tools. This leaves a clear opportunity for a navigable, interlinked, concept-driven knowledgebase focused specifically on Wilber’s work.

The project could draw inspiration from tools like Obsidian or Zettelkasten for nonlinear knowledge mapping, and even collaborate informally with figures in the integral space. Beginning with Sex, Ecology, Spirituality is a strong starting point, particularly its treatment of reductionism, holons, and spiritual evolution. Additional texts like A Brief History of Everything and Integral Psychology could follow. Key concepts worth developing into standalone entries may include AQAL (All Quadrants, All Levels), the Four Quadrants (with individual entries for I, We, It, Its), Holons, Pre/Trans Fallacy, and The Great Nest of Being, each cross-referenced and grounded in primary sources.

I’m also really drawn to exploring how different traditions and ideas connect, so it would be splendid if this project could also hold space for that kind of inquiry. Wilber’s work already weaves together so many threads: Western psychology, Eastern wisdom, systems theory, and more… and having a resource that not only maps his concepts but also invites those wider connections could make it an even richer space to learn and engage.

Good point. I asked him on twitter and we’ll see if he replies
