When I was reading the original texts of maria montessori, she mentioned over and over again : if we want to fix the adult world we need to provide a save environment for the children.
She had fantastic ideas like the - erdkinder plan - not too far off from the development spaces you propose
But the thing is to create such perfect environments as she described is a impossibility because to create these what happens to the adults providing these? So one absolutely - important - thing is. an approach that is intergenerational is needed. transformation can not happend with only “adult” , and lets be honest mid range age people to - transform - civilization!?
And yet there exist many many montessori schools already in the world who have implemented - the erdkinderplan - as a developmental space. But where do these children go after they finish the conceptual educational level of school? Here the spaces you propose could be very interesting but how would all these children find these? So spreading the information about the spaces you offer or related spaces to montessori schools all over the would seems like a good idea. What do you think?
I think these schools are a very nicely aligned and it should be easy enough to plug the idea of a developmental space.
Actionable Ideas - How create contact :
Create a List of montessori schools for all countries in the World ( AI could help but as per usual this list would need a human verify)
Online collaboration is weaker than offline so start with Paper:
Create an actual - Paper - Flyer which condenses the idea of lifeitself course and thats understandable and intriguing for children and parents
If the Paper Concept is available use the PDF with a slightly extended introduction to email the schools
there are probably in each country re occuring montessori conferences - these events are usually a mix of promoting and networking, so one could try to create a promo session for the lifeitself course
Conferences - The Conference Hopper Problem.
From my zettelkasten:
I see an instance of that also in the web3/techspace with something I call the “conference” hopper problem. That is in the crypto world on conferences the age distribution is pooled in certain area. So it would be rather unlikely that you would meet “elders” at crypto conferences. How so because you are trying to build something “new” how could someone “old” provide insight into that? But if we change the frameing from trying to build something “new” to “solving something complex” it comes more apparent that we actually *need * very much diversity to find the approaches and ideas to tackle these complex problems.
This is why I am so happy and grateful to see now - kind of - “elderly” conversations happening in kernel :leichtes_lächeln:
But is not only the elders that are missing in the discussion around our complex problems, its also our children. And this is why I think FFF formed, they ( at least in part) believed the adults were not seriously thinking about these kinds of problems. But also also the children in the way nora mentions in the video. In these small breakfast discussions with the family or in this open question discussions with kids Daniel mentions. Its these kinds of discussions that we need a lot of more. Why are conference so unfriendly to families with kids? How would conferences look like where kids could meaningfully participate ( so much more on wholeness and uncertainty here but…)
Not a nice experience: ofcourse this forum uses disscourse, but I get “Badges” first edit great!!!
But when I want to create a post with 3 links i get: “new users can only create posts with 2 links…” Who creates this software? this is software for gigantic forums with potential spammers and bots. ugggghhh I disgress
I almost finished the first post with the following section when discourse interfeered so please forgive my rant above And find the rest of my intended message here:
Another resource that I feel is related to that is this:
Is this already a developmental space? Is this model a eco village? We are now shifting into the wider open and connecting fractals :
What is a developmental Space in the first place?
Can a (developmental) space exist without history? What about neighboorhood?
If cities and most urban areas are largely unsistainable on different quality metrics how do we want to structure then communities and living together?
Having researched an used many of the alternatives, perfect options are not readily apparent? However, I’d be curious … has anyone experienced a Discourse alternative that is better than Discourse?
