Share your thoughts on Life Itself's new map and directory of transformative social change organisations in Europe and beyond (Cohere+ project)

Life Itself recently completed a new phase of ecosystem mapping*, culminating in a directory and interactive visual map of 300+ organisations and initiatives taking action for transformative social change in Europe and beyond.

We undertook this mapping as part of Cohere+, a 3-year EU-funded project which focused on research, field-building, and educational offerings to support changemakers to build their capacities for coherent collective action in response to metacrisis. The project was a partnership between: Life Itself, Emerge, the Ekskäret Foundation, the Institute for Integral Studies, and The Hague Center.

To help us better understand the impact of our work and how it could better serve the needs of changemakers, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Who else do you think should be on the map? (Please give us names and links)

    • Why?
    • Where on the visual map would you place them?
  • What’s your gut reaction to this ecosystem directory and map?

    • What’s surprising? What piques your curiosity? What’s frustrating?
  • Can you imagine yourself using this map? How? What would you use it for?

*building on our previous work (since 2020) to map the ecosystem of inner-led change/metacrisis-aware/transformative social change organisations (see an overview here)

Amazing catalogue, with so many organisations, it could be very valuable!

Some points for possible enhancement…

  • Linking from the categories map to the categories, not just to the general map.
  • Linking from the general map to the categories.
  • Linking back from individual entries to their categories, and to the map
  • Giving a more compact, alphabetic listing of the entries in a directory category

What provisions are made to keep it up to date?

On what basis did you assess that they are “taking action towards paradigmatic social change in Europe.”?
